immune boosting teaHere I am, days away from what will be a challenging business trip requiring this 42-year old to exhibit the stamina of a 25-year old. It’s the kind of event where your face starts to hurt from the forced smiling and your feet hurt from all the standing. And, I’m getting sick. I can feel that subtle tickle in the back of my throat, my nose is ramping up to full snot-producing capacity, and I’m just a tiny bit achy.

It’s the time of year, this in-between seasons, when I am most likely to get sick. And, unless I am in traction in the hospital, I will still have to endure my work week. So, I’m heading these cooties off at the pass with my Magical Immune Boosting Tea. My tea combines natural ingredients that are likely in your pantry right now. I’m no doctor, so while I won’t say that my tea is a cure for the cold or flu, drinking it at the very first sign of the funk will lessen your symptoms. Besides all the magical ingredients, the tea is mostly water and will help fight dehydration too.

  • Fresh ginger: antibacterial, good for treating nausea, anti-inflammatory, helps thin mucous
  • Fresh garlic: antibacterial and antiviral
  • Lemon: antibacterial
  • Raw apple cider vinegar: antibacterial, aids digestion, soothes sore throat, thins mucous
  • Raw honey: antibacterial, antiviral, soothes sore throat, cough suppressant, makes the tea go down a little easier

How to make Magical Immune Boosting Tea

Start with about a tablespoon of chopped fresh ginger and 1 clove of garlic cut in half. Place the ginger and garlic in a tea infuser. If you don’t have a tea infuser, you can just steep the ingredients in a mug and strain them out later. Fill mug about 3/4 of the way to the top with boiling water and let steep for five minutes. Remove or strain out ginger and garlic. Stir in 2 tablespoons of raw apple cider vinegar, the juice of a half a lemon, and 2 teaspoons of raw honey. Drink the tea as hot as you can stand it.

This immune boosting tea can also be made in a large batch and reheated throughout the day – just multiply the ingredients. All you need to do then is move the dog or cat from your lap, peel back the afghan, pause your guilty pleasure movie, and pad into the kitchen to heat up another cuppa.

I know your mom told you all of this, but sometimes we forget the basics of getting well. During this time, be sure to get American Poker – ein spannendes online Casino Spiel plenty of sleep, more than you think you need. Wash your hands well and often. Take a hot bath. And, if you can, let someone take care of you for a change. Get well soon!
